Here at studio BE, we just celebrated our digital platform’s first anniversary.

I want to personally thank each of you for sharing virtual space with us over this challenging past year.

When we first started building out our virtual studio a few months into COVID-19, our primary goal was to create a safe, accessible community where our faculty members could stay connected with their beloved students — YOU! —  in the midst of a global pandemic.

Being a teacher myself, having taught yoga and mindfulness for the last 13 years, I understood the groundlessness and uncertainty facing my colleagues and their extended sangha. Amidst great uncertainty, we debuted with grit and determination — and opened our hearts together along the way.

studio BE launched with a commitment to collective well-being. We remain driven by creating exceptional access to care for ALL people — even if that means doing business differently.

It’s not been easy or graceful, and yes, we often look back and think how much we still had to learn. We’ve had more “roll up our sleeves” moments than you can imagine.

But our hearts and intentions have always been in the right place.

Whether you joined the studio BE community following a trusted teacher or a recommendation from a friend or family member, know that you belong.

Know that you matter.

And know that we appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to craft a nourishing online community that offers you space to breathe, practice, learn, and connect.

Jennifer Ciarimboli is studio BE’s co-founder and CEO. Jennifer began her career in corporate sales in 1999 in the telecommunications industry. After nearly a decade of success in that industry she suffered from burnout, trained to be a yoga teacher and transformed her life.

Jennifer embraced her entrepreneurial spirit in December 2008 when she opened NE Pennsylvania’s premier yoga studio, Balance Yoga & Wellness. During her six years of owning, instructing, and managing Balance, Jennifer continued to advance her training, global network, and inner growth. In 2014 she enrolled in the Insight Yoga Institute.

Wanting to spend more time on deep studies in yoga, the teachings of the Buddha, spiritual inquiry, and mindfulness meditation, Jennifer sold Balance in 2015. Reflecting on her long career in corporate sales, she recognized that if she had learned some of the methods and techniques of mindfulness meditation years ago, she might have been better able to manage her stress in a healthier way. From this insight, studio BE was born.
